What actually happens in an AI Readiness Evaluation

Most AI conversations start with a tool and work backward to a problem. We do the opposite. An AI Readiness Evaluation is a short, structured look inside your business to find where time and money actually leak, before anyone writes a line of code or signs up for a platform. It is the first step in how we work: Diagnose, Build, Embed. The Evaluation is the Diagnose part, done properly.

The goal is not to be impressed by your operation, or to sell you on ours. It is to leave you with a clear, honest picture of where AI would pay off, where it would not, and what it would take to get there.

What the engagement looks like

We spend focused time with the people who actually do the work, not just the people who describe it in meetings. That usually means sitting with your team, watching real tasks happen, and asking a lot of specific questions. We are forward-deployed, which in plain terms means we work from inside your team rather than handing you a report from the outside.

Over that time we map your highest-volume workflows end to end: where a request comes in, every hand it passes through, where it stalls, and where someone is quietly doing the same thing for the hundredth time this month. Those repeated, predictable, costly steps are where automation earns its keep.

The questions we keep asking

A few questions come up in almost every evaluation:

• Where does work pile up while someone is busy with something else?

• Which tasks are done the same way every time, with little judgment required?

• What does an error here actually cost, in money, time, or trust?

• What information lives in someone's head instead of a system?

• If this person were out for two weeks, what would break?

The answers tell us which workflows are worth automating and, just as important, which ones are not. Some tasks are annoying but rare, or need enough judgment that automating them would create more risk than they remove. We will tell you that plainly.

What you walk away with

At the end of an Evaluation you get a short, specific write-up: the one or two workflows where AI would return real hours or revenue, a rough sense of the effort involved, and the order we would tackle them in. No fifty-page strategy deck, no vague roadmap. Just the few things worth doing, and why.

If we do not see a strong case, we will say so. We would rather tell you AI is not the answer right now than take on work that will not pay for itself.

Why this comes first

Skipping the diagnosis is how most AI projects stall. A flashy pilot gets built, everyone nods, and nothing changes because it was pointed at the wrong problem. The Evaluation is cheap insurance against that. It makes sure the thing we build is the thing your business actually needed.
